Tropical tranquility in campus design
We simulated a tropical forest within the grounds of a corporate campus, through effective landscape design. We eschewed the manicured landscape effect so popular in corporate settings and opted for an asymmetrical yet harmonious approach, more often found in natural settings. The cornerstone for this project was the concept of balance in nature.
We leaned into the asymmetrical arrangement of elements, bringing the natural environment of a real tropical forest into the Amazon campus. We introduced just the right amount of order into this, with effective grouping of trees that worked to cool down the hot air and provide shaded walkways.
We used indigenous and well-acclimatised plants to ensures a long-lasting range of greenery that purifies the air and needs little maintenance. We combined this with the use of permeable surfaces such as grass pavers, green strips and gravel beds to create a landscape that's lush, wild, yet ordered all at once.
