Greenwood High School
Transforming a campus through linearity and openness.
Our redesign of Greenwood High School hinged on a strategic use of linear pathways to interconnect expansive spaces and bustling zones across the campus. This approach enhanced the functionality of the open space and elevated the aesthetic appeal of the grounds, promoting a seamless flow of movement and interaction in this high-touch environment.
The staggered pathways break the monotony of a typical straight design, and chart out a journey through the campus, enhancing both visual interest and spatial efficiency while ensuring accessibility for individuals with disabilities. These pathways are flanked by large green spaces that define the institution’s identity and foster community by providing ample opportunities for both official and spontaneous gatherings. Along these green corridors, informal seating pockets are placed, serving as interactive zones that encourage engagement and conversation among students and faculty.
