Creating Green Workspaces in Chennai's Climate
Taking into consideration the hot and humid climate of Chennai, the design challenge that prevailed was to provide comfortable open spaces even during peak daytime hours. Spaces that encourage and welcome employees into the green were achieved through the incorporation of specifically designed ETFE roofing, thereby creating a healthier working environment.
A nature-responsive landscape design, utilizing wind and sun direction, along with the strategic placement of key elements like water features and seating areas nestled by green walls of plantation, optimizes human comfort.
Circulation around the buildings introduces a sense of green relief with the help of lush green plantation and the incorporation of active and passive spaces such as playcourts and gathering areas, fostering a sense of healthy camaraderie within the work culture.
