Countryside Charm
This farmhouse on a 4-acre land parcel was seeking to become an innate embodiment of the Andhra architectural culture itself. We set out to conceive a landscape design that embraced the natural surroundings it was part of, and enhanced it to be a study in contrasts. The existing tree cover was retained and preserved to maintain the site's ecology and to work around its natural greenery.
The entire landscape was executed with locally available materials and indigenous plants. Among these, Tandur stone was sourced locally and used for most of the landscape elements.
We also designed a natural water body that collects surface run-off for filtration and percolation, and introduced aquatic life into it to create an aquatic ecosystem that lent beauty, life and diversity to enrich the area.
We transformed an urban farmhouse into a tranquil rustic space that lets the local flora, fauna and culture flourish.
